The Patel family returned home from a weekend trip to find their living room and kitchen flooded. A supply line to the refrigerator had failed, releasing water continuously for an estimated 48 hours. The hardwood flooring in the living room had buckled significantly, and the kitchen laminate flooring was fully saturated. Water had also wicked up the drywall in both rooms.
The 48-hour exposure time meant that the hardwood flooring in the living room was beyond saving. The laminate kitchen flooring had delaminated and also required full replacement. The drywall in both rooms had wicked moisture to a height of approximately 18 inches, requiring removal and replacement of the lower sections.
Sevco Restoration arrived within 60 minutes of the call and began water extraction immediately using truck-mounted equipment. All affected flooring was removed the same day. Industrial drying equipment was deployed throughout both rooms and monitored daily. After 4 days of drying, all moisture readings returned to normal. New hardwood flooring was installed in the living room and new tile was installed in the kitchen. Lower drywall sections were replaced and painted.
The Patel home was fully restored in 7 days. The new flooring throughout the living room and kitchen was installed and finished to match the rest of the home. No secondary damage developed as a result of the prompt response and thorough drying process.
