Monsoon flood damage restoration following a Category 2 water intrusion event in Gilbert, AZ
📷 Before and after photos will be added when available from the Sevco Restoration project archive.
During a severe monsoon storm in Gilbert, the Williams residence experienced significant water intrusion through the back door and garage. Approximately 4 inches of standing water accumulated in the garage, laundry room, and back hallway before the storm drain system could handle the volume. The water was classified as Category 2 due to contamination from surface runoff.
The contaminated nature of the flood water required specialized handling protocols throughout the restoration process. All porous materials that came into contact with the flood water had to be removed and disposed of properly, including the garage drywall, laundry room flooring, and hallway baseboards. The garage concrete slab also required anti-microbial treatment.
Sevco Restoration's team arrived in full personal protective equipment and began contaminated water extraction immediately. All affected porous materials were removed and disposed of following proper protocols. The concrete slab and all structural surfaces were treated with EPA-registered anti-microbial agents. Industrial drying equipment was deployed and monitored daily. After 6 days of drying, all readings returned to normal. New drywall, flooring, and baseboards were installed throughout the affected areas.
The Williams home was fully restored in 11 days. All contaminated materials were properly removed and disposed of, and the restored areas were confirmed clean by post-remediation testing. The family returned to a home that was fully restored and free of any contamination concerns.
